Design as a milestone

Komax Holding AG, a member of the Komax Group, is a globally operating technology company. It makes serial production machinery and customer-specific systems for every level of automation and customisation. The company employs some 1,700 people worldwide. The aim of the new Mira 230 wire-processing machine was to create a uniform corporate product design language so that this design could be used as a basis for future machine generations. We determined the requirements for the design through discussions with users and by analysing the individual procedural steps.

The new formal language is timeless and can easily be adapted when developing new machines. The entire development focused on both brand-specific strategic and ergonomic aspects: Even the GUI is meant to clearly express the external appearance of the product design, Komax’s expertise and its leadership claim with regard to cable processing. The ergonomically designed hand-rest ensures healthy and non-tiring operation, while LED lighting of the work area provides optimal visibility. An ergonomic carrying handle makes the smart Mira 230 mobile and usable at various workstations.

Ergonomic UX/UI of the highest order

The programmable Mira 230 and Mira 230 Q machines are the answer to today's requirements in wire processing, offering a large mix of very diverse products. The newly-designed product solutions address the high demands of users through simple handling and increased productivity. Thanks to special functions and an individual library of articles, it produces high and replicable quality.

This “smart” design makes both models the first choice when processing multi-conductors.

“We highly value our long-lasting collaboration. As a pioneer and market leader in automated wire processing, Komax manufactures precision machinery in all shapes and sizes. For this challenge in product design, Vetica proved to be a partner who can create an internationally valid design language that is based on a few basic elements and guarantees high recognition rates. At the same time, Vetica has shifted the focus towards optimal and comprehensible operation.”
