Showcasing the dormakaba brand DNA

The dormakaba Group currently employs some 16,000 people in more than 130 countries. Our Vetica product designers were tasked with developing a dormakaba-specific concept for a uniform product design across all its development locations worldwide. Our design work centred on the formal transformation of the brand values, the sustainability of the corporate strategy as a technology leader, and providing dormakaba products with a unique and consistent formal language.

In drawing up the new concept for the dormakaba corporate product design, our designers and engineers focussed primarily on the use of state-of-the-art RCID technology, intuitive usability and, most importantly, cost management. For example, numerous applications capitalise on the electrostatic charge generated by the human body. From 2007 to 2016, we supported the dormakaba Group in all its design needs, from the orientation of its product strategy to the provision of a consistent portfolio design. dormakaba’s new products have won a number of international design and innovation awards.

The concept impressed everyone because it generated widespread positive feedback on both its functionality and its aesthetic appeal. It is therefore safe to say that the new design has set a milestone at dormakaba.
